Skill T3.1:  Use Proper Citations

Grade Level:  Ninth

Objective:  Students will decide under what circumstances citations are necessary.

Academic Expectations:  5.5, 1.16

Sample Activity: 

Students will asked to look for a specific icon to use on a web page. The icon can be found at several different sites. One site will allow the student to use the icon freely while the other site allows use of the icon but requests proper citation of source. Students will use the "Decision Tree" or any other problem solving strategy that would identify the pros and cons of each solutions generated. Students will then write a brief paragraph explaining the reasons for the solution they have chosen.
