Objective: The student will use the mouse appropriately to point to and select letters (click) to spell their full name correctly in Wiggleworks’ Word Volcano.
Academic Expectations: 1.16
Resources: Scholastic’s "Wiggleworks" or other application that allows letters to be "typed" by clicking the mouse button.
Sample Activity:
Using an LCD projector or TV digital converter, the teacher will work demonstrate how to move the mouse around and the effects it has on the screen. The teacher will also demonstrate how to select letters by clicking with the mouse button. The students will work with a partner at a computer practicing how to use the mouse to move around the computer screen and appropriately selecting (clicking) letters to spell their full name correctly in Wiggleworks’ Word Volcano.
