Sample Activity:
The students will practice sitting in the chair at the computer making appropriate adjustments as needed after modeling by the teacher. Students will role-play appropriate and inappropriate ergonomic techniques for younger students.
The students will demonstrate appropriate keyboarding techniques while working at a computer. The techniques should include the following: sit straight with your back against your chair; do not slouch; sit six to eight inches from the machine with your body in front of the "j" key ; use correct hand/finger positions; keep elbows in a relaxed natural position; elevate your wrists; use a document holder when keying from written copy; try to keep your eyes on your copy; and use appropriate hand to press "shift" when keying capital letters.
