Skill T4.4.1: Determine When Internet Search May Be Effective

Grade Level: Eighth

Objective: Given a topic from a class theme, the student will be able to use the Internet and various research resources to search for information with teacher assistance.

Academic Expectations: 1.1, 1.2, 1.16, 3.4, 5.1, 6.2, 6.3

Resources: Content Area Reference Books, CD Rom Encyclopedias (Encarta, Grolier), Internet Site- www.yahooligans.com

Sample Activity: 

After a class discussion about a class theme taught, the teacher will assist the students in generating keywords to search the Internet and other research resources. The students will search and analyze the various resources then determine which was most effective.

Recommended Core Content: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Practical Living/Vocational Studies, Arts & Humanities
