The Day that I Went Raking by Victoria
It was a sunny November day. The phone rang. It was my Aunt Felicia! She asked if we could come rake the leaves. I really, really wanted to go. My mom said, “Yes.” I was so excited! “When are we going to go rake leaves?” I asked. “Right after lunch.” said mom. After a few hours we ate lunch, and I rushed through my meal and headed out to the car. I was bouncing up and down in the car. We were almost there. After we got there I got a drink then I got to work. I was raking very slowly while dancing with the rake! I felt very silly while dancing with the rake. My mom laughed so hard at me that she stopped breathing for a minute. I got back to work and a few minutes later my Aunt Felicia turned on some music. Aunt Felicia and my mom went inside for a few minutes while I was still raking. As I was raking the last bit of leaves up I felt a nice breeze on my face. Then I laid down in a pile of leaves! It was like a ruff but relaxing bed. I sank into the pile of leaves. It felt very soothing, and peaceful. A few minutes later my mom and Aunt Felicia stepped out of the house. They saw me lying down in the pile of leaves, and laughed at me. Five minutes later we had to leave. It was heartbreaking to leave that pile of leaves behind! I look forward to raking leaves again some day!
