I am From…
By Emily
I am from horses,
Fields,
And wildflowers,
Dogs barking,
And babies crying.
I am from grilled steak and mash potatoes,
Going mush, mush and sizzle, sizzle.
I am from family baseball,
And catching fire flies in the dark,
Cold rain,
On the window pains.
I am from wind rocking the house,
Howling,
Like it is mad at the world.
I am from tickle wars with Grandpa Y.
I miss the laughs,
I want to cry.
I am from cold winter with lots of snow,
And hot chocolate.
I am from warm summers,
BBQ’s,
And pools.
I am from “time to get up” and “go to bed”,
“play with Sam” and “time to eat.”
I am from Pittsburgh but,
Kentucky is my home.
