The main characters of this story are: Kit Tyler, Nat Eaton, Rachel and Matthew Wood.

Wethersfield, Connecticut, is a small village. Most of the buildings are made if wood. The story takes place in 1687.

Kit Tyler leaves Barbados so she can live with her Aunt Rachel. When she gets to Wethersfield she tries to fit in so much that she almost makes herself sick.  Later Kit meets a woman named Hannah, whom most people called a witch. Since Kit was always around Hannah, people believed Kit was causing all the children to be sick. A trial was held to decide if Kit was really a witch.

I really enjoyed reading this book. My favorite part if the story is when they held the court trial.
