Do you like to read mystery books? Well here’s one I think
you’ll like. This book is called Return to Howliday Inn.
The author is James Howe. Here are some important characters of the book, Harold, Howie, Hamlet, Linda, and Bob, who are dogs, Chester, Felony, and Ms. Dameanor, who are cats, The Weasel, who is a ferret, andMr. And Mrs. Monroe, Daisy, Jill, Toby, Pete, Arcie, and Mr. Greenbriar, who are humans.
This book takes place in a city called Centerville, but it doesn’t
tell when this book takes place, or anything else about the setting. At the beginning of the book it says that Harold, Howie, and Chester live in a house together with Mr and Mrs. Monroe, with their kids Toby, and Pete. Well one day Harold, Howie, and Chester went outside, somehow they figured out that they were going somewhere, and they weren’t going to like it. The next day Harold, Howie, and Chester went to Cheatau Bow Wow, an animal shelter. Howie calls Cheatau Bow Wow Howliday Inn. In the middle of the book Harold, Howie, and Chester had been aquainted with some other animals around them like The Weasel, who’d taught them how to get out of their bungalows, middle sized cages for animals, a very easy way. They also met Linda, and Bob, who lived together they thought everybody else was strange. They also met Hamlet, a great dane, his master was an actor that played Shakespear, that was very pour, and had to give up Hamlet. They met Felony, and Ms. Dameanor to, they were both cats, these cats were cat burglars. One day all the animals heard a noise coming from underground, so all the animals dug, they dug up some bones, and a collar, that said ROSEBUD, everybody thought the bones were talking, and maybe they were right. I thought the most exciting parts in the whole book were when Hamlet was guilty of lying about Rosebud, because he was a ventriloquist, and made it up all up, just because he wanted to get out of Chetau Bow Wow. At the end of the book everybody got a new friend, her name was Georgett. One day Chester was looking in the phonebook because he wanted to find out where Archie lived, the only problem was, that he had to addresses. The next day the animals got loose, they first went to the closest address, but Archie didn’t live there, his cousin, who really didn’t like dogs very much. So they went to the next address, which was Sunny Dale Nursing Home, that didn’t allow pets. They got in by acting, and using branches to make themselves not look like animals. Next they walked around inside, and found Archie’s room, and went straight in. Archie loved to see that Hamlet was there, but the residents didn’t like him being there, or the other animals. Dr. Greenbriar came in, and took all the animals back to Cheatau Bow Wow. Then Harold, Howie, and Chester went home and played, and played. I really liked this book, because it’s one part adventure, one part mystery, and because it’s about animals. I would recommend this to a friend, but not to someone who can’t read very well, because it has hard vocabulary… well what do you think of that?.. It’s good, thanks. |
