Have you ever seen a cat play the sax? Hip Cat plays the saxophone and sings the blues. He made the other cats get CRAZY! The author of Hip Cat is Jonathan London. He uses curvy word lines to show music and rhythm. The illustrator, Woodleigh Hubbard uses bright colors, cartoon cats and modern art to help us feel the music. The book takes place in the "bebop-rebop city" filled with jazz music. Hip Cat played music for everyone and he played well. You should always do your best. We liked this rhyming book because it was exciting and made us feel happy. If you want to be "One cool daddy-o," then read Hip Cat! |
