I read The Midnight Club by James Patterson. This book is a fictional book that is full of suspense. If you like serial killers, murders, and investigations this book is for you. It goes a bit deeper than normal investigations, this book deals with the inner workings of police forces and shows a little bit of what goes on behind the scene.
The Midnight Club takes place in New York City. The characters move around a little, they go to Atlantic City; they also go to Alabama for a few days. The majority of the book takes place in modern day New York City.
The main character in the book is John Stefonivitch. He is a police detective with the New York City precinct. He is the protagonist. He likes a woman named Sarah McGiniss. Sarah is a reporter in New York who is working on the same story that John is investigating. Then there is Alexandre St.Germain. He is the antagonist. He is a psychopathic killer in New York. He is a top dog when it comes to crime. He is extremely wealthy and intelligent. He killed John’s first wife and put John in a wheel chair.
There were many highlights of this book, for it packed with action. It was a hard book to put down because you were constantly curious as to what might happen next. Some of the best parts to me were the parts when it was John and Sarah because it was those parts that you really felt like you were getting to know the real character. Those parts held lots of emotion. Another really good action part was when they went down to Atlantic City for a bust. Everything got turned around and you were completely surprised by the ending of that part. There were really any parts of this book that I didn’t like. It was all really good and it really kept you interested.
My book was about a troubles detective who lost his wife and was injured by Alexandre St.Germain. John wants more than anything to catch St.Germain and get his revenge. He just wants justice. John gets partnered with a guy whose brother was aslo killed by St.Germain. The whole book is about how John tried to understand and catch St.Germain. It’s about how justice is regained and about how John learns to love again. It’s about going on and continuing living. The Midnight Club is a wonderful book that I would recommend to anyone because it can appeal to many different people. It’s a real page turner and you aren’t going to want to put it down. Be ready to read about things you never thought possible. This book is incredible and I really recommend it. This review has been read 2275 times.
