Our Team Challenge (2): Environmental Resources - Millennium Goal: Ensure Environmental Stability

Scenario (tentative): Depleting the environment and the impact on economy, families, etc. For centuries your family has made a good living from the land. Your grandparents, and theirs before them, were farmers who raised their children to till the soil. They planted crops, lived on the food they grew and sold enough to keep their family healthy, well dressed and able to benefit from the resources in the towns around them. Your uncle was a store owner and sold food in his store in the city. His children went to school and became technicians. Some entered professional careers. Your cousin is a doctor, the other a teacher, two others work in stores and businesses. The success of the entire community is based on the agriculture that supports this economy. The city gets larger, factories and cars pollute the air. Water is becoming scarce as people waste more and care less about sustaining their environment. The food chain is threatened by pesticides. Instead of getting healthier, generations after generations are getting sicker.

Many youth are faced with similar challenges, as essential elements of their environments are depleted. One environmental problem, specifically, is facing your community. You and your friends find yourselves in a unique position. You have been provided with access to the most noted environmental experts in the world and have access to all of the most current technologies. How would you use technology to help reduce or reverse the loss of environmental resources? ************************************************************
