FCPS Curriculum Map and Framework

Directions for Using This Website

Most of the Curriculum Map documents can be downloaded either for editing or for printing; however, some of the  documents (such as the Overview, cover pages, etc.) do not need to be edited and, therefore, can only be printed.

The documents which can be edited will download in their original Word format. The printable documents open in Adobe Acrobat Reader.  If you do not have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer, go here for information.

NOTE:  To ensure you are receiving the latest updates, make sure to refresh each web page before you download documents.  How do I refresh a web page?

Each web page contains specific directions for downloading documents. Before you begin to download the documents, you must first create folders in which to store them.  To do this:

  • Create a folder on your school server and name it Curriculum Map. (Your school STC can do this for you.)

Make sure everyone who will be working on the Curriculum Map has permissions to access the common folders which the STC set ups on the server.

NOTE: You could create these folders on your desktop, edit the curriculum documents and then later move them to the folders on the server.

  • Inside the Curriculum Map folder, create a folder for each grade level:

  • Inside each Grade Level folder, create a folder for each content area.

  • Once the folders have been created, open Internet Explorer and go to the Curriculum Map and Framework site at http://teach.fcps.net/currmap

  • From that web page choose the page which contains the document(s) you'd like to download to edit.

  • Follow the directions on the web pages to download a document, making sure you save the document to the folder created on the school server or to the folder you created on your computer desktop.
