High School

HIGH SCHOOL SPEAKING EXIT PERFORMANCE STANDARD: Student will speak using appropriate forms, conventions, and styles to communicate ideas and information to different audiences for different purposes in a variety of speaking opportunities (expressing opinions, ideas and feelings: story telling; drama; poetry; discussion; asks and responds to questions; presentations; readers’ theater; debate; etc.).

English I / 9th Grade
English II / 10th Grade
English III / 11th Grade
English IV / 12th Grade:

S9.1 Use language that is appropriate to the communication setting

S9.2 Give oral presentations for a variety of purposes (e.g., entertainment, imagination, information, persuasion)

S9.3 Control nonverbal signals to enhance presentation
