Quilt Piece #1:

A cold breeze wakes you from your sleep.  You lie in bed with your eyes close and think "two days without school...yea!  It's Thanksgiving!   Or so you thought...

You are cold so you pull your comforter up to your chin, but boy is it scratchy and what's that smell?  You hear your mom...is she in your bedroom?   Where's the smell of turkey?  Where's the sound of the TV blaring the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade?

"Stop  kicking my bed!" you yell to your brother.

You finally open you eyes and everything has changed!

You find yourself sleeping in a trundle bed, with your brother underneath.   Colonist used these types of beds so they could push one under the other so there would be more room in their cabins.

Your home has changed.  You no longer have a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath ranch on Heather Way in Lexington, Kentucky.  You have been transported back into the past...to Colonial America!

On one of the pieces of your quilt, draw a picture of your colonial home.  Write three sentences about how it is different from you home in 1998.
