Wordsmith Update

textHELP websiteAs of this writing (February 27, 2002), there are 13 schools within our district that have, or have requested, the purchase of Wordsmith (textHELP) for helping their special education students and others with their writing and test taking skills. The State Department of Education will provide training, with a tentative date falling within the week of March 18 (firm date to be announced). In the past we have trained one special education person and one technology person from each school - more can come if they want. There are no funds available for subs - work this out through your school.

Here is the list of the schools that are using (or soon will use) textHELP. Contact them for help and ideas and how to use this technology.

Elementary: Russell (MIAMI), Russell Cave, Linlee, Julius Marks, Glendover, Southern, B.T. Washington.

Middle: Winburn, Morton

High School: Henry Clay, Bryan Station, Lafayette, Dunbar (note that 80% of the high schools are on board)
