| Dayna Lykins,
Technology Resource Teacher
The Office of Technology is delighted to announce the
latest addition to it's educational support arm, Dayna Lykins! Dayna has
had careers
in shoe sales, cake decoration, and dental office management, before
joining the district as an elementary teacher at Linlee Elementary School.
She also taught at Rosa Parks Elementary before being
asked to join the Tech Office staff this January. Dayna is herself a
product of Fayette County schools, being a graduate of Bryan Station High School.
She holds a bachelors in early education from the University of Kentucky,
and is currently working on a Masters in Instructional Technology at
Georgetown College.
Daughters Lissa, 14 and Meghan, 13, attend school in
Fayette County (SCAPA and Beaumont, respectively), and keep Mom busy with
driving them to cheerleading practice and diving lessons. During her off
times she enjoys garage sales (" . . . shopping them, not having
them!"), and she and husband Dave look forward to watching basketball
during March Madness. Rounding out the family are Maltese's Miss Ellie and
Miss Lucy.
Mrs. Lykins's school responsibilities include Athens,
Breckinridge, Southern , and Stonewall Elementary Schools. Welcome, Dayna!

| Dana Etter,
Microcomputer Specialist
Dana
hales from Philadelphia, graduating from Interboro High School in 1993.
After a year of college, she joined the United States Navy Reserves, where
she served as an aircraft mechanic. When she returned to college, she
earned a bachelors degree in both mathematics and mathematics education from Boston
University, as well as a Masters in Instructional Systems Design
from the University of Kentucky. Dana has recently renewed her
certificate to teach high school mathematics and hopes to one day get
"back to the classroom" in some capacity.
Dana
and husband Paul welcomed their first child, Lucas Paul, on July 7th of 2001.
Despite an extra early arrival, Lucas has turned into a happy and healthy
7-month-old little boy. When Dana is not busy changing diapers
or talking baby talk, she enjoys reading, bike riding,
traveling and spending time with her 4-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi,
Alice.
Dana has been with the Office of Technology since 1997,
first as a software trainer, and, since 1999, as a Microcomputer
Specialist. She is assigned to Deep Springs, Dixie, and Yates Elementary
schools, as well as Crawford Middle and LTMS.
She also serves as the resident STARMath and SRI technical support guru.
[As TIPS goes to press, Dana has informed us that she
will be leaving Fayette County Schools and moving to Ohio this month . . .
we wish her the best at her new home!]
