Tuesday, January 8 -- 1:00-2:30  Word 2000 Levels 1 and 2 -- For beginners, we will include entering/editing text; selecting, then formatting text; cutting, copying and pasting text using the clipboard; save vs. save-as; retrieving a saved file; creating a new file; printing and print preview. Also included  in this session will be: using headers and footers; creating templates; using indents, setting tabs, adding bullets and numbering; using page breaks and "right-click" tips. Wednesday, January 9 -- 4:30-6:00 (1.5 hrs. PD credit) Technology Tips and Tricks using Microsoft Office -- Tons of simple things you can do in the classroom using MS Office Programs.  Includes time to make-and-take. Barbara Barr
Thursday, January 10 -- 4:00-5:30 (1.5 hrs. PD credit) Introduction to FCPS Literary Book Club -- This session will help teachers learn how to use this web-based resource to foster literacy. Students can now walk through the steps of creating and submitting book reviews online. Come learn how to use this exciting resource in your classroom. Cathy Brandt
Tuesday, January 15 -- 4:30-6:00 (1.5 hrs. PD credit) Introduction to Using Digital Cameras with Microsoft Image Composer -- We will create pictures using digital cameras, then use Image Composer to do basic editing and reformatting of the pictures for use in Word/Publisher documents, or for posting on the Web. Wednesday, January 16 -- 4:30-6:00 (1.5 hrs. PD credit) Using Publisher to Create A Brochure -- This session will walk you through the steps in creating brochures with your students.  Brochures are a great alternative to using word processing for student writing.  Publisher gives students the opportunity to show creativity and style.  Ideas for use with students will also be provided. Thursday, January 17 -- 4:30-6:00 (1.5 hrs. PD credit) Introduction to Paint Shop Pro -- Paint Shop Pro is an inexpensive alternative to the clunky Microsoft image manipulation products bundled with FrontPage and Office2000. We will cover how to import and transform pictures, create Web icons and menu bars, embed text, and use layers to create flexible and changeable graphics. The results of your work will improve the appearance and flexibility of PowerPoint, Word, videos, and Web pages. Jeffrey Jones
Tuesday, January 22 -- 1:00-2:30  Excel 2000 Levels 1 and 2 -- Beginning topics will be covered, including: entering data, functions and formulas; editing information in cells; tips to selecting multiple cells in formulas; setting margins, printing gridlines and graphing data. In addition, we will cover: organizing and enhancing workbooks with cell notes, text boxes; graphing data from worksheet; using Excel 2000 as a database; using an Excel 2000 database to perform mail merges. Wednesday, January 23 -- 4:30-6:00 (1.5 hrs. PD credit) Graphic Design Using Macromedia Fireworks -- This session will cover the basics of using advanced graphics editors to create and enhance the graphics and photos on your website. It will cover such topics as layers, blends, and image transparency. We will also cover image effects and filters. Mike Johnson

Creating A Classroom Web Page -- This hands-on workshop for beginners will take you through the process of designing and creating a classroom web page ready to post to your school's web server. A great way to communicate with students and parents: use MS FrontPage to create a classroom web page that brings the school and home together in a learning environment.

Tuesday, January 29 -- 1:00-2:30  Introduction to PowerPoint 2000 -- Learn the step by step process of creating a professional slide presentation. Techniques covered include adding text, clipart, backgrounds and sound to the presentation. Mark DiMascio

Thursday, January 31 -- 4:30-6:00 (1.5 hrs. PD credit) Creating Online Forms Using FrontPage 2000 -- Learn how to create an online form using FrontPage 2000, and how to create an online search form to view results.
