Pam Flynn, Training Specialist,
Financial Management Systems
Pam hales from Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, where she was born on
Mother's Day, and raised on a farm in Nicholas County. She graduated
from Nicholas County High School, continuing her interesting date theme when she
graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelors of
Science in Business Education on a Sunday, her birthday, and Mother's
Day. Pam also holds a Masters of Arts in Vocational
Business Education from the University of Kentucky, and has 17 years
experience teaching in a variety of settings, including the
Comprehensive Employment Training Act program, Kentucky Junior College
of Business (where she chaired her department), and the Fayette
County Public Schools Adult Education program.
A tragic car wreck in which she lost her father
pulled her out of teaching to care for her mother. Shortly after,
she joined FCPS's Department of Personnel as the Special
Projects Assistant. During Dr. Peter Flynn's tenure as Superintendent,
that department was blended into the new Human Resources Department,
where she
worked for 5 years, followed by 3 years as a Systems Analyst for the
Special Education Department, where she was involved in the roll-out
of the Special Education Tracking System in STI. For the past
three years she has been a Computer Training Specialist,
specializing in MUNIS training and Remote Time Entry, and writing
data queries for MUNIS.
Pam lives in Lexington with her husband, Ted, a
retired Lexington/Fayette Urban County Government fireman, and their
8-year-old dog, Sunny. Their son, Bryan, graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a bachelors degree in
both Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. In her free
time, Mrs. Flynn enjoys remodeling the old home place on the farm, reading,
walking, and tending flower gardens.
