Mrs. Warthman uses the Mimio with her studentsUsing your school's new Mimio

This year, the special education department purchased a Mimio, laptop and projector for each school.  A Mimio is a portable device that turns any whiteboard into an interactive whiteboard. Training on how to set up and use the Mimio was provided and the equipment was released to the schools.

Shonda Warthman is a 5th grade teacher at James Lane Allen that has eagerly embraced the Mimio in her classroom. She has worked closely with special education resource teacher, Andrea White, to begin using the Mimio on a daily basis to aid both her mainstream and identified students. Mrs. Warthman primarily uses the Mimio to record Mrs. Warthman uses the Mimio with her studentsclass notes. She then prints out the notes for students that need them. She also uses the Mimio to review information for upcoming tests. Because her notes are saved (and not just erased from the board), she can pull up pertinent screens. She also uses the play back feature to play through her notes as they were recorded to help students recall important information.

If you would like more information in using the Mimio in your classroom, contact your technology resource teacher.
