Welcome to a new year with STLP! 

STLP stands for Student Technology Leadership Program. Fayette County Public Schools is proud to participate in this state-wide program. Last year, 100% of Fayette County schools had an STLP group. We are hoping to repeat that level of participation again this year.

The Mission of the Student Technology Leadership Program™ (STLP) is to advance the individual capabilities; to motivate all students; and to create leadership opportunities through the use of technology.

Upcoming Meetings:

Elementary STLP Coordinator Meeting

  • Wed., Sept. 17th

  • 3:30-5:00

  • Location: Garden Springs Elementary
     

Secondary STLP Coordinator Meeting

  • Thurs., Sept. 18th

  • 4:30-6:00

  • Location: Eastside Center for Applied Technology

1.  The STLP will develop activities which enhance the academic, social and emotional growth of the student. 

  • Student Technology Leaders (STLs) will participate in technology activities coordinated to the curriculum. 

  • STLs will work in teams/individually inside and outside the school. 

  • STLs will interact with other students and adults to develop working partnerships. 

2.  The STLP will provide leadership opportunities for all students.

  • STLs rosters will reflect school populations. 

  • STLs will take responsibility for participating in leadership training and activities. 

  • STLs will experience career awareness/entrepreneurial opportunities. 

3.  The STLP will experience multi-age collaboration by forming innovative learning partnerships.

  • Coordinators and STLs will develop activities which cross grade levels and geographic boundaries (K-12 and post secondary). 

4.  The STLP will form learning partnerships between students with different technology skills.

  • STLs will learn new technology skills. 

  • STLs will share technology expertise with other members. 

  • STLs projects will consist of 4 role groups (starter, trainer, liaison, and provider).

 5.  The STLP will develop activities which benefit communities.

  • Coordinators and STLs will form partnerships with business, industry, charitable, nonprofit and community agencies. 

  • The STLP will develop and initiate activities which benefit the local community, region, and the state. 

6.  The STLP will develop instructional activities which integrates technology and benefits the school and support KETS (Kentucky Education Technology System)

  • Coordinators and STLs will initiate activities which benefit individual students, staff and STLs and support the school's consolidated plan. 

  • Coordinators and STLs will assist the implementation of technology integration in the school.
