The Fayette County Schools ForumThe Fayette County Schools Forums environment is back in action, and ready for your class's participation! Here's some FAQs if you don't know what this is!

What's a forum?  Web-based online discussion!

What are they good for?  Instructional use - writing, discussion, project collaboration, research. School/district community use - teacher discussion, sharing of resources, chat.

Who gets to use this?  Teachers, students, administrators...everybody in FCPS! Of course, they have to be admitted into a forum...

Can anybody join a forum?  Nope, only folks who've been invited. Everyone can register on the environment, but each forum's moderator is in charge of deciding who gets to participate.

Can anybody host a forum?  Any adult in FCPS can host a forum relating to his/her professional responsibilities.

Can people from outside FCPS  join a forum?  We are piloting discussion forums which include students from classes in other districts. So the short answer is yes. The long answer is...it's got to be kids, and they have to have someone in charge "over there!"

More information?  There's lots, including examples of discussions from last year's forums, at http://teach.fcps.net/forum. Contact your district Tech Resource Teacher, or forum administrator Jeffrey Jones, to get something started!
