Mark DiMascio, Ambrose Computer Trainer

Hannah, Amanda, and TuckerMark and Fayette County Web Manager Pete Koutoulas had a bet - when the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills played, the banner of the winner would hang in the office of the fan of the loser. As a born and raised Buffalo native, Mark was pretty proud when he hung the Bill's banner in Pete's office last year! Mark graduated from Hutchison Central Technical High School, spent four years studying architecture at State University of New York/Buffalo, and received a two year degree in computer programming in El Sagundo, California, which propelled him into several computer-related jobs. He moved to Lexington in 1995, joining Fayette County as a computer trainer in 1996.

MarkThese days, Mark is a multi-tasker for Fayette County. Besides his responsibilities teaching professional development classes in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, he is in his second year supporting the Read180 remedial reading program, and has served as an aid in the classroom with this initiative. His responsibilities also include managing the Lab, lab resources and district software media.

Mr. DiMascio lives in Lexington, and spends much of his off time raising two daughters - Amanda (13, and a student at Morton Middle School), and Hannah, who Mark traveled to Hanoi, Viet Nam, to adopt, when she was 18 months old. As a result, much of his  leisure time is spent at amusement parks, campgrounds, or visiting family in both New York state and Florida.

Wayne HamakerWayne Hamaker, Systems Support

The future son-in-law of Paul Laurence Dunbar TRT Terry Carr, Wayne is the newest member of the Systems Support department of the Office of Educational Technology. A native of Dexter, Missouri and Dexter High graduate, Wayne has spent much of his recent years living, working, and studying in Murray. He holds a Bachelors in Accounting, and a Masters in Telecommunications Systems Management from Murray State University, where he has served the last 5 1/2 years as the manager of their public computer labs. In that capacity he managed student workers, supported hardware and software, developed technology solutions for students, and brought new MSU freshmen up to speed on technology use. He also worked with faculty and staff on technology integration issues. In addition to his degrees, he holds a Microsoft A+ certificate.

In Fayette County, Wayne will be responsible for supporting technology at Crawford Middle, Deep Springs Elementary, Dixie Elementary, Eastside Vocational, Julius Marks Elementary, Lexington Traditional Middle, and Yates Elementary schools. After only a few weeks on the job, he remarks: "I have already been to all of these schools and can tell they all have a great staff and it's going to make my transition that much more enjoyable."

Mr. Hamaker's wedding to Jennifer Carr, who hopes to join Fayette County as an elementary school teacher,  has been set for the summer. In his spare time, he likes games and sports, and holds a Second Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He lives in Lexington.
