HOW TO INSTALL A Z42-43 LEXMARK PRINTER

This year at Beaumont, we received a generous donation from Lexmark of 30 brand new Z42-43. As the Beaumont STLP, it was our job to install most of the printers. Our leader, Ms. Crouch, taught us how to install each printer using either the Windows 95 format or the Windows 2000 format. And now it is our pleasure to teach you how to install a Lexmark printer of your own.

Lexmark is very good at making the task fast and easy. We will now list the steps.
1. Unpack all the parts inside the box.
2. You need to buy one 3-6-foot IEEE AB Printer Cable.
3. You need to clear out a spot to put the printer where the cable can reach the back of the computer. 
4. Shut down the computer completely.
5. Hook up the cable to both the computer and the printer.
6. Open the lid of the printer.
7. Insert the cartridges, matching the color of the lids to the color in the printer. 
8. Close the lid.
9. Insert paper into feeder.
10. Turn the computer back on.
11. If hooked up correctly, the computer should tell you that it has found new hardware.
12. Load installation disk.
13. Click the top installation button. (Do not choose the registration button.)
14. Continue the installation process. If you are using Windows 2000, you must have the administrator login to be able to continue installation. 
15. When you get to the alignment page, print out and choose the line that is the straightest. Enter that into the computer.
16. Close program.
17. Click the START menu.
18. Go to settings.
19. Go to printers.
20. RIGHT click on Z42-43.
21. Go down and click on properties.
22. Click print test page.
23. Exit out of all programs.
24. FINISHED!!!!
