Spring Story

http://teach.fcps.net/talk/lesson_display.asp?lessonID=142

Students in Ms. Duke's class at Meadowthorpe Elementary are exploring the world with their five senses. One activity they did was to read this PowerPoint book and discuss the many new things that appear during spring.

After the discussion, they completed this Kidspiration activity in which they identified things they could use their five senses for during spring. The spring book is from this site: http://www.dltk-teach.com/minibooks/spring2/

Title: The Pig Who Ran a Red Light Reviewer: The whole class!
Author: Johnson, Paul Brett Teacher: Pingleton, Stacy
Illustrator:   School: Breckinridge Elementary

Review:
This story has a pig who drives a truck. He runs a red light. The pig acts like the cow. The pig's name is George and the cow's name is Gertrude. The pig drives on the wrong side of the road. Why did the pig drive the truck? Keep reading to find out.

The setting was on the farm. Another place in the setting was in the town. Another place was in Miss Rosemary's house.

George is a pig who is the main character. Gertrude is a flying cow. The police officer didn't believe that a pig could drive a truck. Miss Rosemary was the owner.

George thought he could fly like Gertrude, but he fell off the porch into the petunias. George wanted to drive like Gertrude. He drove the truck. Miss Rosemary called the police to get George. The police didn't believe that a pig could drive a truck. The officer gave George a ticket for driving on the wrong side of the road without a license. Did George ever fly? Keep reading to find out.

Brooke likes this book because it is funny. Austin likes this book because the pig thought he could fly. Justice likes this book because the pig drove the truck. Tori likes this book because George ran into the petunias. Faizon likes this book because the pig thought he could drive.
