After reading a story from www.hiyah.com, you should be able to answer the following questions. These are generic comprehension question that apply to all the stories. Your teacher may supply a specific question for you to answer as well. When you are finished PRINT this page and turn it in to your teacher.

1. Who are the main characters in the story? Describe how they look and act.


2. Are there any important supporting characters? If so, name them.


3. Where does the story take place (setting)? Is the setting critical to the story, or could this story take place anywhere else? Where?


4. What is the problem the main character must solve or overcome (conflict)?


5. How does the character solve his problem? Do other obstacles get in the way of solving the main conflict? What are they?


6. What character do you most identify with? Why?


7. What did you like most about this story? The least? If you could have changed anything about this story, what would it be?
