RESOURCES AND INDUSTRY
- This region has the best soil in the state.
- The farmers grow corn, wheat and hay
- The Mammoth cave is located in the Pennyroyal.
It is the largest cave in Kentucky and was on the Underground Railroad, an escape
route for slaves, during the Civil War.
- Ft. Knox is located here in this region. Ft. Knox
holds the nation's supply of gold.
- It has the only Corvette plant in the state.

- Pennyroyal is the largest region. It covers 35 of
Kentucky's 120 countie. It stretches over 11,500 square miles.
- The region was named after a small mint plant called the
Pennyroyal. This plant was used to make tea and cough medicine.
- The biggest cities are Bowling Green and Elizabethtown.
