Our classes are studying the past and present regions of Kentucky. After reviewing our web pages you will notice how different Kentucky is now than it was in the past. For example, when the settlers first came into Kentucky we didn't have the regions like the Pennyroyal, Eastern Mountains and Coalfields, Western Coalfields, or the Jackson Purchase. Instead, Kentucky could be divided into seven natural regions. In the present map of Kentucky there are six regions. Our class thought it would be easier for you to navigate our web pages if you had a guide so we selected a representative from Kentucky to help you. Our guide doubles as the state wild animal of Kentucky. His name is Nutty the Squirrel, and he will be showing you the rest of our web pages. Have fun-we sure did!
